     The last whole week was a super busy 1 for me. 1st is the nursing week which i had to go to Seremban Hospital for 2 days. The whole visit was a great experience and i had learnt and see a lot of new stuff during the visits.

      What really occupied my time beside the hospital visit is the 8th chinese singing competition(CSC).We as sem2 junior were assigned to organised this annual event this yr.As Jackie was the president of this event, we as his main supporting team definitely joined in and helped up in the event.

      We started to prepare this event 1 month ago. Although we had went thro a lots of hurdle during the preparation with arguement here and there , we managed to overcome all the problems and yesterday event was a vy successful one.

       As a flow coordinator of the event, my job was to ensure that every contestant present when it is their turn to perform and to make sure that the competition went smoothly and on schedule.Started to work from 6.45pm ….After every contestant registered themselves i had to make sure that they sit on the places allocated for them. Then around 7.00pm the event started. Strange enough there is always some contestants will disappear themselves and made me to hunt them down. I got to call one by one and tracked those late comer to make sure that they will arrived asap. Thank god i had 2 dedicated team members to help me up..Thanks to Kean Aun and Hung Jein, u guys really make my life easier….

      About 7.15pm after the opening ceremony, the competition started. This yr we had invited 4 judges and one of them was Mr Chan Kwok Fai the champion of Astro talent quest 2005.Quite excited to see him although not really know him..Just know that he had released an EP and was getting more and more popular in the music industry.Beside being a judge, he also performed 3 songs for us which bring the atmosphere so high up.

      The competition started quite smoothly but I know life will never be a smooth sailing thingy for me, there is always an exceptional case that this particular contestant can never come on time. Me and my team member had to search him high and low. Keep calling him and get the same response everytime: " almost there la..wait a while la"…We wait and wait and wait….Finally here he came. Just before his turn he came and he say he hadn’t practice enough and requested to sing later….Oh my god…how can this thing happen? We had already inform all the judges about the sequence and everything was under well control how can we change all our plan just becoz of him?!?! Just as i was about to faint as i really dunno how to reject such unreasonable request, my saviour Jackie came and say NO to this senior….At the end , he went on stage as planned. But truely speaking his performance was not bad tho.

     The rest of the competition went as planned and we actually was ahead schedule. The flow was tight enough and one of the judge praised us for giving the audiences such compact and exciting moment. She said she felt as if she was watching Astro Talent Quest..so happy to received such comment…All our hard work paid:P

      Really witnessed a lot of talented ppl in IMU. All the contestants had shown their very best performances. For solo, we had 12 contestants and as for group we had 4 gps. The crowd was entertained most by the gp " 3little pig"…Their performance was full of surprise and was super funny…This gp emerge as the most popular gp and best gp for the night.

     As for solo, the competiton was so intense. Every contestant had their own uniqueness. We had a contestant who can rap and sing just like Jay Chow, a guy whose singing can bring us back to the 80s, a gal who can touch us so much by her powerful and full of emotion voice. After all 12 contestant finished the 1st round , the top 5 proceed to the next round. We had 2 rep from sem 5, 2 from pharm and 1 from sem 1 that entered the nest round.

     The 2nd round tested the creativity of our contestants. They were given the song " the moon represent my heart" and they need to use their own way to sing this song without music. As this round will determine who can get the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, we can felt the tense atmosphere in Auditorium as the competiton started. I had never heard this song sang in so many version b4, some sang it like huo yuan jia, some change the tempo of the song , some sing it with classical way, and some just stick to the original style.

      Just as we expected, the pharmacy gal emrged as the champion of the solo category. 2nd was won by sem 1 and 3rd was won by pharm guy. After the prize presenting ceremony, we had a small signature session with Mr Chan KF. He is such a friendly and polite guy. He signed every EP presented to him. After the session, we had a photograph taking with him also. 1st time can stand so near to a celebrity haha….Then we took gp photo with contestants and the commitee members. This ended our 8th Chinese Singing Competition.

      Really happy to be a part of the commitee. So long had not do such a grand event ever since i graduated from secondary school. This event was a great success and we had received all positive feedback from contestants, lecturers, judges, and also previous commitee members.Haha and of course there are other reason that make me feel so so so glad and all the hard work done was paid :P…im sure those who in it know what i mean rite keke!! After cleaning up the auditorium, we went for mamak and chat till 4 am….crazy rite….

     Congrats to all those involved and thanks to u guys who bring this sweet memories to me in my uni life…This event not only gave me a chance to know more ppl but it also strenghten up the friendship between the commitees…Once again CSC rocks!!!!
